The DinGo health card acts as proof of your insurance cover and a patient record card when you visit a doctor. With this card you can use medical services in Ghana and abroad. All you have to do is present the handy card when you receive medical treatment from doctors, in hospitals or by approved therapists - it couldn’t be simpler!
The card is linked to your insurance service provider and syncs data in real time onto the DinGo health card such as your full name, date of birth, address and membership number.
With the DinGo health card, doctors and therapists can settle the fees for services directly with your insurance providers. As a security measure to protect against misuse, the DinGo health card includes a photo of insurees aged 15 years and older.
This depends on whether your insurance provider uses the DinGo eHealth service.
The DinGo eHealth card lets you use medical services throughout Ghana and anywhere else your insurance provider is accepted.
The CAN (card access number) prevents your card from being used without your authorization. To access your data, you first need to enter the CAN before you can access it with your PIN.
To receive the CAN & PIN, please contact your service provider.
No. You only need the CAN & PIN if you wish to allow the doctor to read the medical data stored on the eHealth card or to update the data or store new data on the card.
In a medical emergency the CAN does not have to be entered. The doctor is able to access all the necessary information stored on the eHealth card using an electronic medical practitioner card.
Yes, you can also assign a PIN of your choice. To do this, please visit any of our partner customer service centres. To create a new PIN, you first have to enter your old PIN on the card reader. You can then assign a new PIN.
In this case please contact your provider's customer service centre. There you will be able to assign a new CAN & PIN.
